Prospective members must go through the membership process, which includes

  • completing the application form
  • attending at least three club events, two of which should be on-water
  • getting two club members as sponsors

Dockage for sailboats up to 36' is available. Please see our RATES table for details.

melonMembership has many privileges! The UKSC becomes a second home to many members. Sailors of all types are members, and we're all intensely interested in our branch of sailing - and it's small enough that the dockmasters/bartenders know us by name! Plus it's the best sunset on the Keys. Only members can rent slips on our large, new dock; only members may come on property at any time; only members may use club boats.

Participants in the 2010 Great Greased Watermelon Grab, an annual summer sailstice event at the Club.

The active members who get the most out of the Club participate in the development of sailing fleets, operation and maintenance of our facilities, organization of events, and long-term planning for the success of the Club. According to our Bylaws, membership capacity is limited to 220 family and individual memberships. One third of these memberships are available for Associate members.

To become a member, either regular or associate, one must participate in three events (two of which must be on the water), have two club members sponsor them, and have an interview with the membership committee. For a complete membership information package, please click here for pdf. Our Vice Commodore for 2011-2012 is Leah White. You may email her at sokitoome@bellsouth.net for more information.
